Throwback Thursday: How Do You Interview Real Estate Agents to Sell Your Home?

I thought it might be fun to go back and look at some older posts you may have missed. These are some of my favorites filled with great info. Even if you already saw this one, it never hurts to be reminded.

It's hard to know what to ask when interviewing a Realtor to sell your house. After all, you don't know what you don't know. Hopefully, my answer to this question on Quora may help you.

How would you interview perspective real estate agents to sell your home? What questions would you ask?

This is a great question because most sellers just go with the first agent they meet with.

The first thing I would do is Google them before I ever meet with them. Look at their website. Is it professional? Look them up on Zillow, Realtor.com, Yelp, etc. to see what people have said about working with them.

If they pass step 1, speak with them and ask them to email you some of their current and past listings. Are they complete and full of details? Informative? Do they use lots of professional photos? Did they label the photos with descriptions? The MLS listing is the primary thing that will sell your home. It should be done very well. Look up the addresses on Zillow as well. Did the agent upload a video walkthrough? That helps more people see the home on Zillow, but many agents don’t do it.
